Accommodations/Advocacy Specialist
The Division of Student Affairs at Colorado State University is seeking an Accommodations/Advocacy Specialist professional as part of the Student Diversity Programs and Services team in the office of Resources for Disabled Students.. This position contributes to the overall functioning of RDS as it relates to the accommodative needs of students with a variety of disabilities. Needs are assessed in relation to barriers that may create a discriminating effect on a student’s academic success.

Career Development Counselor

As a career counselor you will be a team member, presenter, teacher, project manager and trusted advisor working with outstanding students. The Career Center at Colorado State University provides leading edge career development, exploration and employment opportunities for students and alumni of the University.
The Career Development Counselor provides career identification, planning, and job search consultation to students focusing primarily on the career exploration and decision making process. The position reports to the Senior Associate Director for Career Counseling Services.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide individual, drop-in and group career counseling; career assessment interpretation; and career education programming which supports the major functions of The Career Center: major and career decision-making, internship/experiential education programs, career networking and recruiting and job and graduate school searches.
· Create innovative programming, workshops and classroom presentations to assist students in their career development and job search process.
· Work with underrepresented populations.
· Develop and maintain relationships with Advisors in Center for Advising and Student Achievement (CASA)
· Serve on department-wide committees and work teams.
· Understand and articulate public land grant university policy.
· Participate as a staff member in the full activities of The Career Center.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of a Master’s degree in career counseling, counseling, higher education administration/student development or related area. Degree must be earned by September, 2013.
· Minimum of one academic year of experience and demonstrated expertise in career services and/or academic advising or a combination of both is required. Graduate assistantships and/or internships related to career advising can count as 1 year experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience in a higher education setting.
· Demonstrated ability to create, develop and give presentations/workshops.
· Experience in assisting students with major and career decision-making, resume writing, interviewing techniques, and job search strategies.
· Experience interpreting the MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory.
· Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with constituencies being served.
· Demonstrated knowledge of information technology, such as career-focused web-based research, blogs, social networking and recruiting systems.
· Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and creatively to solve problems and to resolve differences.
· Demonstrated understanding of and ability to articulate needs and concerns of historically under represented and ethnically diverse populations, persons with disabilities, gay/lesbian/bisexual/ transgender individuals, women and non-traditional students. Demonstrate personal and professional commitment to diversity.
SALARY:
The salary range is in the low $40’s for annual compensation, commensurate with experience and education. The position is eligible for all benefits available to full-time professionals at Colorado State University.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
The Communications Manager provides leadership, vision, and oversight of a comprehensive Campus Recreation departmental marketing effort. The Manager works collaboratively with areas in the Department, the Division of Student Affairs, and throughout the University to utilize integrated communication methods to promote Campus Recreation programs and services. This is a 12-month, exempt, Administrative Professional position that reports to the Director, Administration.
AREA DUTIES (75%)
1. Communication
- Develop and maintain Campus Recreation communication goals utilizing the Department’s Vision, Mission, and Values; develop strategic departmental marketing and public relations campaigns to meet the goals
- Ensure all communication and marketing efforts employ proper implementation of University graphics standards and branding guidelines
- Apply concepts of multiculturalism and diversity and incorporate those ideals into projects and publications
2. Marketing
- Department
- Produce messaging and media for the web, public relations, and social media
- Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and communication initiatives
- Event Marketing
- Advise Campus Recreation staff in the development of marketing plans for activities and events
- Special Events
- Plan, coordinate, and promote the annual fall program, Rec-O-Ween, and spring event, NIRSA Fitness Day; evaluate upon completion

4. Develop tools and recommendations to improve the marketing and communication processes for the department (ex. development of an electronic project reporting system).
5. Customer Service: Demonstrate commitment to exceptional customer service by responding to client needs, concerns, and suggestions in a timely manner
6. Assist the Executive Director and Director, Administration with media relations and serve as the back-up on call staff member for crisis communication and after-hours emergencies
LEADERSHIP (10%)
1. Embrace and apply the tenants of a team model with student and career staff to sustain an inclusive and trusting working environment.
2. Participate and/or assume a leadership role on Campus Recreation, Division, and University committees, projects, activities, and events

5. Participate in continuing education activities that enhance professional knowledge and technical skills; facilitate and support professional development for student staff reports
POSITION ASSIGNMENT

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising or related field with five years full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience in communications, marketing or design field OR
Master’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising or related field with three years full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience in communications, marketing or design field
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office and industry software including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Work experience managing and tracking projects
- Experience utilizing social media for marketing and/or advertising purposes
- Supervisory experience
Preferred:
- Work experience indicating attention to detail and follow through
- Demonstrated working knowledge of graphic design, Web/electronic media, digital photography, and multimedia presentations
- Budget development and management experience
- Professional writing and editing experience
- Experience working in higher education including developing student-focused marketing, public relations, and social media plans
- Ability to use analytics to evaluate marketing, public relations, and social media efforts
- Demonstrated understanding of concepts pertaining to multiculturalism and diversity and how they impact marketing and communications
Salary: $40,000-$47,000 Dependent on education and experience

Student Engagement Coordinator
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
This is a 12-month full-time Administrative Professional position. INTO is an organization working in partnership with leading universities and investing in the development of world-class international student centers. It specializes in preparing students for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Our Centers deliver guaranteed progression into leading undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Each INTO Center is managed by a joint venture management board in which INTO and the partner University are equal shareholders.
The Coordinator of Student Engagement will be responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and assessment of high quality new student orientation and continued engagement programming for INTO CSU Pathway, Academic English, and General English students and assist students through the transition once they matriculate to CSU. Transition programming includes work with leadership, campus activities, international education, student recreation, etc. Programming will aim to support a successful transition for international students and to foster the integration and interaction of international students and domestic students.
